However, he is now back and has already featured in Newcastle United's opening preseason win against Carlisle United.
Joelinton expressed his happiness about being fit again and said, "I feel good now. I've had a long time to recover, and the start of it was very difficult for me."
He also talked about his frustration during the injury, saying, "I was very frustrated about the injury at the end of the season. There were a lot of important games, and I could have been with the team."
Despite his frustration, Joelinton knew he had to prioritize his recovery and focus on getting back to full fitness.
He said, "I was very sad, but I knew I had to step out and recover because of my knee. It was the best decision, and I had enough time to recover and come back, starting with the guys in pre-season."
Joelinton is now fully fit and happy, and he hopes to have a season without injuries.
He also welcomed his new teammate Anthony Elanga, who signed from Nottingham Forest.
Joelinton said, "He's a really good player with a lot of qualities. He's very fast, can score or assist, and has been tough to play against."
He expressed his happiness about Elanga joining the team and said, "I'm happy he's now joined us! He will be very welcomed into the group, and we will do everything to make sure he feels at home and comfortable."
