Liverpool Manager Addresses Salah Controversy and Looks Ahead to Brighton - AsianBookie News Liverpool Manager Addresses Salah Controversy and Looks Ahead to Brighton
Friday, December 12, 2025 - 1 day ago

Liverpool manager Arne Slot spoke to the media ahead of the team's match against Brighton at Anfield, addressing the controversy surrounding Mohamed Salah's recent exclusion from the starting lineup. Slot stated that he will have a conversation with Salah about his situation and that the outcome of their discussion will determine how things will develop. He emphasized that he wants to speak with Salah directly and not through the media, and that he has already had conversations with Salah's representatives.

Regarding the decision to leave Salah out of the lineup for the Inter match, Slot explained that it was a collective decision made by the club, and that he was part of the process. He also stated that he is in regular contact with the coaching staff and has a good working relationship with them.

Slot was also asked if he wants Salah to stay at the club, and he replied that he sees no reason why he wouldn't want him to. He pointed out that Liverpool has a good record with Salah in the team, having won many games with him.

Slot shifted the focus to the upcoming match against Brighton, praising the team's resilience and effort in their recent games. He acknowledged that they have struggled with home games this season, but emphasized that it's not just a problem at Anfield.

He also discussed the opposition's tactics, stating that some teams are now targeting Liverpool's defense, and that they need to adapt to these new strategies. He mentioned that they struggled to create chances in the Sunderland game and that they need to improve in this area.

Slot also talked about the summer signings Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, saying that they are now starting to find form as they play more consistently. He noted that they are still improving and that it's not just about their height, but about how they work together as a team.

Finally, Slot expressed his happiness that Liverpool are out of the Carabao Cup, citing the fixture congestion and the fact that they had to play three games in seven days, which he believes has contributed to their injuries this season.

He also mentioned that the return of senior goalkeeper Alisson is a welcome boost, and that reserve keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has done a great job in his absence.
