Paqueta was charged in May 2024 for allegedly getting yellow cards in matches against Leicester City, Aston Villa, Leeds United, and Bournemouth during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. He denied the allegations, claiming he did not intentionally get booked to benefit others.
An independent regulatory commission is set to make a decision on Paqueta's case next week. The commission's ruling may also require the FA to pay for Paqueta's legal fees, which could be up to £1 million.
