Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah recently shared his thoughts on his loan spell at Crystal Palace last season. The 25-year-old centre-back was named in the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel, who was impressed by his performance with the Eagles.

Chalobah has spoken about the challenges he faced at Palace, including being deemed surplus to requirements by manager Enzo Maresca. However, he took a positive approach to the situation, focusing on his own performance and showing his worth to both Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Maresca.

"I didn't see it as a negative or a bad thing," he explained. "I just took it in my stride as a positive, got my head down, and focused on what I could do, wherever I went to. It's part of football, it's part of life. Sometimes you're gonna have things out of your control."

Chalobah emphasized that his goal was to gain experience and showcase his abilities, rather than to prove a point. He aimed to demonstrate his quality in every game and training session, and that mindset helped him slot in smoothly upon his return to Chelsea.

Chalobah went on to play 13 Premier League matches for Chelsea and contributed to the team's success in the Champions League and Conference League. He also praised Thomas Tuchel, describing him as a tough manager who demands the best from his players.

"He's a very tough manager. That's what us players need going into a World Cup next year. It's a very good approach. He wants to win. You've seen that at Chelsea. He's a winner and he wants to bring that same winning culture here," Chalobah said.
